Welcome to Blog Section - Sign up Google Webmaster.  We are on our way to talking about a variety of things to do for our blog with Google. But we must first sign up with Google for different tools.  In we signed up for a Google account and a Google Analytics account.  Now in this blog we will sign up for one more tool: Google Webmaster.

To make it easier, sign up in the order listed:

 

  1. Sign up Google Account

    • As a note: this is where you get your Google user name and password that you use for “everything” Google.

    • This is required before you even sign up for the next two.



  2. Sign up Google Analytics

    • Be signed up with Google Analytics WITH a Status of Tracking installed.



  3. Sign up Google Webmaster (this Blog #11.02).

  1. Go to  http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools

  2. Sign in using your Google user name (Google e-mail) and password.

  3. Type in the name of your website.   Add Site

  4. You will now receive a message to verify ownership.  It says to use your Google Analytics Account.


  5. Click Verify.

  6. It should return  a message Congratulations.

  7. Click Continue.

  8. Great. You signed up for Google Webmaster tools.


Can associate Google Analytics to Google Webmaster



  1. On the top right side, click the down arrow and choose Google Analytics Property.

  2. Under the heading Analytics Web Property, Click your website name.

  3. Click Save.

  4. It will now show your Analytics Web Property has an Associated Webmaster Tools site.


So, now we are ready to use different Google Tools.  And the great thing is that when we want to start using them, we won’t have to pause to sign up. We already have the sign up parts taken care of. Stay with me for the remaining blogs in this Google Section
